With the release of Dora’s debut single, ‘Dark Sand’, The Irish Times Magazine and Hot Press dubbed her one of the most exciting new acts to emerge from Ireland in recent years. The prelude to that release was many years in the making.
Born and raised in her native Poland, singer-songwriter and professional dancer Gola has always had a profound connection with music – dark electro-pop, interwoven with slavic folktronica, and lavish Eastern sounds, all driven by ‘80s funk groove and a smattering of Irish trad.
Aged twelve, she began expressing herself through crafting guitar riffs while competing in the field of Latin dance. Call it fate or coincidence, but when she turned fifteen, her family moved to Ireland, bringing her a step closer to another source of formative inspiration – Irish trad folk.
Cultivating a strong and emboldened identity within Irish culture, Dora created a backdrop in which to illustrate her songs. Consuming Irish mythology and folklore, her world was beginning to widen as she imbued a paganistic vision into her performance.
‘Dark Sand’ set her earthy tone that breathed feminine power, seeing nature as a support system for improving and healing mental health. Its release earned numerous accolades from the national music press, and set the precedent for the organic and immersive sound Dora brings today.

Dora’s mesmerising and wild stage presence invites you to lose the binds to every day life and come alive.
“The prodigiously talented. It makes sense of the Shakira and Enya comparisons that have come Dora’s way” Stuart Clarke
“Dora’s striking voice transmits a sincere intimacy with sections of slavic lyrics. Her music looks to rekindle the connection that has been lost between humanity and mother nature.” HOT PRESS MAGAZINE
